So you do not need to increase your burden by carrying a wetsuit.
Thanks to its location, Seychelles is never affected by bad storms. In fact, it usually only experiences gentle breezes from such storms, happening thousands of kilometers away.
Best time to travel for kitesurfing in Seychelles
The perfect time to travel to Seychelles for kitesurfing is from the end of June to the end of September when the Southeast Monsoon brings the strong southeast trade winds. This period is a little cooler and drier. The southeast trade winds are the most reliable winds for Seychelles as it makes the sea choppy which is perfect not only for kite surfing but also for surfing in general. This is especially true for the coasts towards the east and south direction. The wind reaches its peak speed of about 10 to 20 knots in August. Therefore August is the best month to kitesurf with the most reliable and high-speed wind aiding it.
During the period of October to March, when the Northwest Monsoon is there, the average wind speed ranges between 8 to 12 knots. The wind probability during the northwest monsoon is also well below 20 percent which therefore not a good time to kitesurf in Seychelles.
Trade Winds
Between May and September, the so-called southeast trade wind blows in this part of the Indian Ocean. The wind is mostly even and provides a refreshing breeze on the beaches but disturbing the ocean surface too. Between December and February, the northwest trade wind blows weakly on the Seychelles islands. Between these two periods, there is almost no wind, and the sea remains calm all the time.
